Who I coach and what I can help with
Maybe you're in your first executive role or you've just taken another big promotion. Perhaps you've spent your whole career in large organizations and you just took your first startup job. Maybe you're rethinking your approach to your career with the rise of AI in your field. Or you might be a first-time founder or CEO. Regardless of individual circumstance, the big thing my clients have in common is that they are ambitious people in stretch roles, often leading work that is being actively reinvented by technology. This means my clients are typically learning and unlearning in equal measure, trying to figure out what success looks like as they continue to grow.
In addition to working with individual leaders, I also coach leadership teams that are looking to build stronger relationships and results. I'm especially experienced in working with teams who are inventing (or reinventing) their way of working. Some of my most rewarding partnerships are with teams that are navigating conflict or otherwise working to build trust.
Topics I regularly discuss with clients include team communication, how to give and receive feedback, managing relationships with team members and investors, creating stronger teams, handling workplace conflict, how AI changes workplace dynamics, and balancing work and family. I am also often asked for business coaching and advising; over the last year, I have spent time with clients on product, go-to-market, fundraising, content plans, hiring, and lots more. I have particular lived experience in founding and finding product-market fit, building a go-to-market, and startups.
You won't get one-size-fits-all coaching from me. I will engage deeply to understand your business goals, your personal goals, your team maturity, and your personal leadership style in order to inform our work together.
Am I the right coach for you?
I'm selective in who I coach, and you should be selective in the coach you choose. Meet with a few different coaches to make sure you find the one that's right for you before committing.
I've worked as an executive in huge organizations. I've founded a successful AI startup and served as its CEO. As a woman growing my career in R&D and later a startup founder and CEO, I've been outnumbered in most of the environments where I've worked. I've had hard leadership jobs while raising young kids and teenagers and remained a highly involved parent while being fiercely committed to my work. I have reinvented my career and skill set several times as technology has evolved. I've built high-functioning teams. I have burned out and come back from burnout.
I am likely to challenge you and take you outside your comfort zone, but I will also be your fiercest ally. If these experiences sound like what you might be looking for in a coach, we might be right for one another.
Schedule, availability, and fees
I offer two kinds of engagements.
You want to work through specific business or leadership problems with focus. I charge a monthly retainer of $5K. In exchange, you get a lot of my time and very fast responses. We will meet weekly for four weeks. I am also highly available async to review material or offer other feedback. You can work with me in this way on a month-to-month basis.
You want support with whatever might come up, over a long period of time. In these cases, we will mutually commit to partnering for three months, six months, or a year, and we will meet every 2-4 weeks depending on your goals. A lot of the most effective coaching work happens when we can build a relationship over time. I've been working with my own coach since 2016.
For these longer term arrangements, my coaching fee is between $1,000-$1,500 per session, depending on the length and frequency of our engagement. In some cases, I will consider startup equity for a portion of my coaching fee. I also offer discounts for leaders who have been traditionally underrepresented in their industries.
